Sauna and cold plunge therapy, also known as contrast therapy, is a wellness practice that involves alternating between exposure to high heat in a sauna and immersion in cold water. This combination of heat and cold offers various health benefits, including improved circulation, muscle recovery, and mental well-being.
How It Works:
Sauna (Heat Exposure) – Typically, users sit in a sauna heated to 140–150°F for 10–20 minutes. The heat promotes relaxation, sweating, and increased blood flow.
Cold Plunge (Cold Immersion) – Immediately after the sauna, users immerse themselves in a cold plunge tub 50–59°F for 1–5 minutes. This shocks the system, reduces inflammation, and aids in recovery.
